The iSchool is proud to participate in the NYC Department of Education’s Diversity in Admissions (DIA) program, which gives priority to applicants eligible for free or reduced price lunch for up to 60% of seats for incoming students. Based in SoHo, our school is small, innovative, diverse, and progressive, based on mastery-driven, self-directed, and curiosity-oriented learning. The iSchool program is designed to offer students opportunities to engage in meaningful work that has relevance to them and the world, with the choice and responsibility to determine their high school experience, and unique structures to support their development. What catches your eye? What inspires you? How does it connect to an interest you have? How does The New School’s unique curriculum satisfy your needs in a way no other school could? If the community drew you in, why is that? Have you heard wonderful things from your older brother who attends? Do you dream of studying in New York City? (If so, why is The New School the NYC institution for you, out of all the myriad options in the area?) This is your opportunity to impress admissions with your knowledge of what The New School has to offer, your vision for your future, and why those two things are aligned.A highly rated and much sought-after public high school in Manhattan, the NYC iSchool is dedicated to equipping students with the skills necessary for success and leadership in the 21st century. Scour your program’s website for information about classes, professors, unique opportunities, and notable alumni. As with any other “why” essay, take some time to do your research. The iSchool firmly believes that a well-educated student is one who pursues interests outside of the classroom. ![]() Of course, brevity isn’t the same as generality, so make your point with specifics. Admissions wants to know what has inspired you to apply, so save their time (and yours) by cutting to the chase. This is a pretty standard “why” essay that allows students to choose their line of focus: academics or community. What specific aspects of The New School’s academic programs or community drew you to apply? Please pay particular attention within your essay to the college, program, and/or campus to which you have applied. You should be able to point to specific examples of their offerings that will help you to effect change, whether they be classes, networking opportunities, research, etc. Remember to connect the social issue you’re passionate about to your vision of life at The New School. ![]() Perhaps you’d like to address systemic racism and discrimination within your area of study. ![]() Which social issues are close to your heart and why? Maybe you would love to address reproductive rights and expand healthcare access for people in historically underserved communities. The issue you choose to discuss can really run the gamut. The New School wants to welcome students to campus who not only want to make their mark, but also feel passionate about making the world a better place. In the meantime, let’s dive into the two essays all students have to write! In your study or work at The New School, what social issue or system would you make the focus of your efforts to effect change? (400 words) It’s very possible that if you’re applying to a specific major, you may have to write a third essay! We recommend starting your application in the Common App to see what’s in store. ![]() ![]() We didn’t have much of a choice in the matter. For months, on almost every single post we make (no matter the content), Pinner fans have simply left ‘Bring back Pinner’ or even just ‘Pinner’ as a comment. ![]() “The Pinner IPA comeback was driven by calls from beer drinkers on all of our social media channels. It might also quell the incessant social media comments Aaron Baker, senior marketing manager for Oskar Blues Brewery, says has filled their social media channels since the session IPA disappeared from shelves. It’s a hit of nostalgia and comfort for beer drinkers at a time people might need it the most. While I’ve enjoyed the original Can-O-Bliss and am enticed by Oskar Blues’ new resin-filled creation, the real headline generator, and assumed sales-driver, for this mixed pack will be Pinner. Drinkers should expect three 12-ounce cans of each in each Pack-O-Bliss. Joining Pinner is a new Can-O-Bliss variant, Can-O-Bliss Resinous, which Oskar Blues playfully describes as a potential “West Coast Hazy Juicy New England IPA.” The other two in the mixed pack are the standard Can-O-Bliss and Can-O-Bliss Double IPA. Instead of a standalone, shout-it-from-the rooftops social media push, the revival of the session IPA star came as part of Oskar Blues’ recent Pack-O-Bliss mixed IPA pack announcement. The return of Pinner IPA might have gone a little bit under the radar. Here’s a look at what Pinner fans can expect from the comeback of the classic, along with what’s new from Oskar Blues that could become cult favorites down the road. Now, Oskar Blues’ fan-favorite session IPA, first introduced in 2014, is back by popular demand and public support, as part of the new Pack-O-Bliss Mixed Pack. Pinner’s loyal following come from the beer’s ability to deliver vibrant pineapple and berry flavors with a bit of resinous hop bite in an easy-to-approach session IPA. The pro-Pinner cries have spammed many an Oskar Blues’ Facebook and Instagram comment sections since it was discontinued back in summer of 2019. “Melding fruit aromas and flavors with a lower ABV beer creates a killer light and refreshing Passion Fruit Pinner IPA for getting after it this summer.“Bring back Pinner.” It’s a sentiment shared by Oskar Blues Brewery’s biggest fans and casual beer drinkers alike. “Passion fruit is very prominent in PINNER Throwback IPA’s dry-hopped flavor spectrum, locking in on that and accentuating it alongside the existing mouthfeel and clean malt characteristics is a natural extension of what this beer is all about,” said head brewer Tim Matthews. The clean malts with hints of toasted biscuit pair with zesty hops to spice up the taste and aromas from immense additions of pureed passion fruit and a small spike of pureed Blood Orange. Passion Fruit PINNER IPA (4.9% ABV, 40 IBUs) accentuates the passion fruit and citrus juice attributes of the original PINNER and cranks them up to 11. The limited release brew will launch at the end of June and will blaze in all 50 states where Oskar Blues CANs are sold. Oskar Blues Brewery is twisting up a PINNER for beer drinkers to lust after this summer with its Passion Fruit PINNER Throwback IPA strain, the sultry spinoff to the brand’s existing PINNER Throwback IPA. ![]() ![]() “Providing it across multiple campuses is a special opportunity for us.” “Peer connectivity is essential,” he said. The reason why Liquid Nails cannot work on plastics that have these two chemicals is due to something called low surface energy. Liquid Nails will also not work on plastic that have both polypropylene and polyethylene. What About Polypropylene (PP) or Polyethylene (PE)?Īs mentioned above, Liquid Nails cannot work on any plastic material made from polypropylene or polyethylene. It is also designed to be weatherproof and more durable, especially in hot and freezing temperatures. This product specializes in bonding glass, ceramic, and plastic. However, there is a Liquid Nails Polyurethane Construction Adhesive. Using the original Liquid Nails product can work well on any type of plastic. If the glue line is thinner, it will take less time to dry.Īnother tip to know is that there are certain types of plastic that Liquid Nails is not able to bind to and those are plastics made with polypropylene and polyethylene. ![]() If you can, be sure to spread the Liquid Nails adhesive in a very thin line. Then, you have to wait the full 7 days for it to finally cure. When you apply Liquid Nails in a zigzag pattern to plastics and press them together, you may have to wait the full 24 hours for the adhesive to dry. In fact, plastic is far less porous than concrete. It does not allow air to flow through it. One tip to know about using Liquid Nails on plastic is to expect a long dry and cure time. Nearly all types of plastic work with Liquid Nails. The Liquid Nails for concrete and mortar product is a gray color so the color of the group will not stand out when it is applied to concrete. The latter product is a bit more weatherproof and can resist moisture and sunlight damage better than the original product. When gluing two pieces of concrete together, you can use either the original Liquid Nails product or using the specialized Liquid Nails for concrete and mortar. It is best to remove any paint, primer, or stain on the concrete before applying Liquid Nails. Liquid Nails can also seal cracks forming within the concrete. ![]() The air carries away moisture so that this adhesive dries quickly.
